gonna get ready and yank the motor out needs a refresher and a buddy of mine is gonna fix the body and prep it for paint before winter so it should come together pretty quick i'm pretty pumped. Not sure if anyone is really familiar with like the john deer blitz black paint or not but its a very common hot rod paint scheme so i'm going to go with that cheap easy and affordable since the wife and i just bought our second house so this one is defintly done on a budget more pics to come soon

so i had kicked around the thought of selling the car and decided to go ahead and keep it. for the last couple of years i've been wanting to do a big block swap on a fox body. so as of yesterday i acquired a late 60's model 460 and c6 trans. so since this car is a fairly solid car i figured why not. I'm going to take my time not in a big hurry plus need something to do for my engines class this quater anyways. so i'm sure i will have many updates to follow as soon as i get the ball rolling hopefully i'll get to start on the heads this wed.

The 1986GT was the first year of EFI, and had really crappy one year only 'swirl' heads and a smaller EFI intake. Swapping to 87-93 heads and intake (or aftermarket) is a good move.... especially if you're going to have it apart to freshen it up.
Good Luck!

gonna get ready and yank the motor out needs a refresher I saw that he's switching to a 460... But, he also said something about the engine needing a 'refresher'. Stock 87-93 stuff is dirt cheap, and while you're at it, it's worth switching to.

the stock 302 was junk, the number 8 cylinder had sever detonation so its not worth anything unless i would plan to do another 306 or something but i'll still keep it around maybe. I'm pretty pumped to do a big block swap is something i've always wanted a 4 eye with a big block.

If you decide to get rid of the motor or the heads and/or upper and lower intake let me know. I have 2 other Fox's that I'm always looking to keep spare parts for.
