this is a rough draft on the rulebook, everyone look over it, and let me know if i've left anything out.
All cars will need to be street appearing, with the exception of the outlaw street class.
M/C- Motor/Cycle- Until further interest in the class, all motorcycles will run heads up.
R/S- Real Street- O.E. or O.E replacement tires(minumum 160 treadwear)tread cannot protrude past body, stock framerail location, vehicles cannot run faster than 7.50 e.t.
R/S/AWD- same as R/S, but for all or 4 wheel drive cars, trucks, and suv's
M/S- Mean Street- any tire, tire tread cannot protrude from body, stock framerail in stock location, notching allowed, for cars not certified to run faster than 7.50 if a car runs 7.49 or faster, then that car is disqualified. If both cars run faster, then neither car will advance.
H/S- Hot Street any tire, tire tread cannot protrude from body
stock framerail in stock location, notching allowed, for cars certified to run from 6.50 to 7.49 If one of these cars runs 6.49 or faster, then that car will be disqualified. If both run faster, then neither car will advance.
S/S Super street- any tire, tire tread cannot protrude from body
stock framerail in stock location, notching allowed, for cars certified to run faster than 6.50.
P/S Pro Street- Any tire, back-halved, Street appearance, (headlights, tailights, roll-up windows)
O/S Outlaw Street- Anytire, door cars, anything goes, also for street appearing chassis cars
10.5/O 10.5/Outlaw-10.5 inch tire anything goes
*all cars must adhere to Kanawha Valley Motorsports Park rules.
*Tech- tech will start at or before 6p.m. in lanes 1 and 2. The KVD tech person will check to see how fast your can safely run. For the M/S, H/S, & S/S the ESA tech staff will place you in the appropriate class according to how fast your car is allowed to run, if your car has stock framerails and drag tires. After the ESA official classes your car, you will be handed a card with your class on it. You will take this card to the registration table, and give them all your info, then they will hand the card back to you. Take this card back to your car and put it under your wiper on your windshield. The ESA staff will then take this card and use a paint marker and put your class and number designation on your glass
*You can double enter classes as long as your car fits both classes. Points will be carried over on classes that have to be adjusted according to car count. If running two classes, you will receive points in both classes, but the points will not be compiled for one class.
*Timeslips-Timing boards will be turned off for test and tune and eliminations. Time slips will be printed out and distributed normally, but the ticket will be split at the ticket booth at the big end, this is to keep some of the mystery intact, another aspect of “street racing” because your never really sure how fast the “other guy” is. You will have all incrementals on the time slip.
*Staging-You will stage your car like you normally do with a Christmas tree, lighting the pre-stage, and stage bulbs, then a flash of the ambers, then the starter will point to each driver, then raising both arms holding them up for an uncertain amount of time( not holding too long for cars with trans. Brakes), then dropping his arms straight to the ground.
*Jumping the start-You cannot leave the starting line until the first movement of the hands. If you move before this and it is agreed upon that it was an obvious “jump” that person is disqualified, and the win goes to the car in the other lane. Car must at least keep their stage bulbs lit, until the drop of the arms. If one of the cars rolls, the starter will make sure the bottom stage bulb is still on, and if it is he will continue the starting process. If it is a questionable jump, the cars will be ran over. If anyone has a complaint on a start that they think the wrong decision was made, questions have to be mentioned to an eastcoast streetcar association staff member before that classes next round of competition.
*Memberships- memberships are available for the Eastcoast Streetcar Association for $25 this includes a ESA T-shirt, ESA window sticker, rulebook, and orange highlighted designation on the forum, online.
*Grudge Runs/Money Runs:
If you have a fellow racer that you want to call out, either do it in the drivers meeting, or set it up prior to the drivers meeting and announce it while the drivers meeting is going on. If during eliminations, a grudge or money run develops, go to a staff member, and we will make time for it after the eliminations are completed, putting money on the line really gets everyone’s attention!
* Burnout contest-During the first round of eliminations in the shootout, burnouts will be judged on time, length, and amount of smoke. Burning through the staging lights will be allowed, so do your best imitation of John Force.
*Points will be rewarded with a season ending champion in each class. Per event, 10 points are attributed to show, 5 points per round win, and an extra 5 points for winning the final round in your class.
